Mahathir must stop those attacks on PM: Musa

So being united equals to CANNOT COMMENT the current leader?

Kota Kinabalu: The scathing attacks by former Premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi should be stopped to prevent a split in the nation's largest Malay-based political party, Umno.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Sabah Umno was able to win all State and parliamentary seats contested in the 2004 election because they were united.

He said while Sabah Umno respects and would always bear in their thoughts the deeds by Dr Mahathir, "Éthe (current) PM should be given a chance to implement his plans in the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP)."

Speaking at the opening of the Wanita Bistari Programme organised by Wanita Umno Sabah and Sabah Special Affairs Department, here, Thursday, he said the State Umno had already expressed their undivided support to Abdullah's leadership.

"We have to assist and support him (Abdullah)Énot only Umno but all Barisan Nasional leaders," he said.

At the same time, Musa, who is Sabah Umno head, said the people should not be deceived with the empty promises and lies by the opposition.

However, he has full confidence in Sabah Umno members and other BN component parties' members to differentiate between "stone and gem".

Nevertheless, he said the elected representatives must turun padang and never let complacency sets in.

He said as long as they go down to the ground to ask the people what their problems are and subsequently solve them, the BN would be successful.
